Mountain Bike Advocacy Groups
The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trail work participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy, and innovative trail management solutions since 1988. IMBA’s staff, chapters, clubs, and members work to benefit the entire mountain bike community.
The Northwest Trail Alliance is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. It is one of the Northwest’s leading mountain bike advocacy and trail stewardship groups.
The Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of sustainable, multiple-use trails and to preserving access for mountain bikers through advocacy, education, and promoting responsible trail use. COTA is an all-volunteer organization that works in conjunction with the USFS, BLM, and other land managers to build and maintain trails throughout Central Oregon.
Disciples of Dirt is a mountain bike club dedicated to the stewardship of sustainable, multi-use trails and to preserving and enhancing access for mountain bikers through advocacy, outreach, social events, and promoting responsible trail use.
Fidalgo Trail Riders organized in order to partner with the City of Anacortes to create a Bicycle Skills Park on Fidalgo Island. Our goal is for a multi-generational park that offers progression for all levels of riders. We expect it to become a place where families ride together, riders progress, and the community gathers. At the same time, we want to work with the city and other user groups to preserve the great riding experiences we already have on Fidalgo Island.
Greater Oakridge Area Trail Stewards protects, creates, and enhances quality trail experiences for mountain bikers in cooperation with other trail users in the Oakridge area. In addition, we actively promote responsible trail use, support volunteer trail work, assist land managers with trail management issues, and improve relations among all trail user groups.
Hood River Area Trail Stewards (HRATS) is a volunteer-based non-profit made up of cycling enthusiasts that are focused on engaging and uniting the local cycling community in order to channel enthusiasm to create, enhance, and protect the riding opportunities in the greater Hood River area, to include both Oregon and Washington with a focus on trail advocacy within a 30 mile radius of Hood River.
The North Coast Trail Alliance, formed July 2015, is a sub-chapter of the Northwest Trail Alliance. As a group of volunteers, we are working to improve mountain biking possibilities for the North Coast of Oregon.
Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association (RVMBA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed to protect and expand trail opportunities for mountain bikers in the Southern Oregon area, including Ashland, Talent, Medford, Grants Pass, and Jacksonville. Whether you are an adrenaline seeking gravity rider, or recreational trail cyclist, we have come together in the spirit of unity to seek additional opportunities for all riding disciplines.
The Salem Area Trail Alliance (SATA) is a grassroots organization that seeks to design, build, and maintain nearby non-motorized trails for health enhancing recreational opportunities while preserving and improving our local green spaces.
Team Dirt is dedicated to the stewardship of sustainable, multiple-use, and purpose built trails, to preserve access for mountain bikers through advocacy and education, and to promote responsible trail use. Team Dirt is a non-profit, volunteer organization that works in conjunction with the BLM, Starker Forests, OSU College of Forestry, the USFS and other land managers to build and maintain trails throughout Benton County.
The Wild Rivers Coast Mountain Bicycling Association is a nonprofit educational association whose mission is to protect, create, enhance, and preserve quality trail experiences for all levels of mountain bicyclists in Curry County and surrounding area.
The 44 Trails Association (44Trails) is actively involved in the planning, building, maintenance, and stewardship of the trails accessible from the FS44 road in Wasco and Hood River Counties and the surrounding Columbia River Gorge area. 44Trails is a non-profit 501(c)3 community service corporation, staffed entirely by volunteers and financed by fundraising events and donations.
The Black Rock Mountain Bike Association (BRMBA) is a volunteer-powered, non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to building and maintaining Black Rock Mountain Bike Area trails under Oregon Department of Forestry management plan. Our secondary goals include helping support other local mountain biking trail opportunities and providing education about, advocacy for, and progression of the sport of mountain biking.
The mission of Cold Creek Mountain Bikers is to expand our local trail network and provide greater trail diversity in the Yacolt Burn State Forest.
Columbia Area Mountain Bike Advocates (CAMBA) was formed in June 2000 in an effort to join area cyclists into a group with which to organize and associate with government and other local clubs, essentially establishing a voice for cyclists in the Columbia River Gorge area and beyond.
Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, with seven regional chapters, 15,000+ followers, and 1900+ members, is Washington State’s largest mountain bike organization. Internationally known for developing Colonnade and Duthie Hill mountain bike parks, Evergreen is dedicated to trail building and maintenance, advocacy, and education.
Growlers Gulch Racing (GGR) is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most active and passionate groups of trail builders and mountain bikers, dedicated to building and maintaining trail at Growlers Gulch near Castle Rock, Washington.
Westside Trail Federation, founded in 2007, is dedicated to helping design, build, and support sustainable single-track freeride and downhill mountain biking trails near Portland, Oregon.
